Celebrating Qatar National Day

The Government, Locals and Expats celebrates Qatar National Day every 18th of December in regards to their national commemoration in 1878.

What is the history of the National day?

On 18th of December year 1878, "Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani" succeed his father Mohammed Bin Thani as the Emir of the Qatari Peninsula.

The official logo for 2019’s celebration carries a slogan “Al Maali Kaydah” which means “Supremacy is hard to reach”. The slogan is inspired by a poem written by Sheikh Jassim describing his son Sheikh Ali bin Jassim (Joaan)

QND celebrations will long until 20th of December for all families to attend some of the location the event organizers have set up bringing nation as one.

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) has stated holding the third edition of the Qatar Flag tour on Friday, December 13th as part of QND Celebrations.

Each and every year of the celebration includes activities for Family, Colleagues and Friends. Fireworks display, musical shows, aircraft show, musical shows, parachuting, drone shows, cultural shows, national parade, Classic car show and more, how is it possible? IT IS A HOLIDAY. Private and Government sectors is given a day off to watch the most awaited event of Qatar since it is implemented. Great isn’t?

An additional to this is a great news for expats and local Qataris to get a chance of watching Maroon 5 perform live in Doha by 19th of December.
